BAKHTIYAR KHAN MAUSOLEUM

The Tomb of Mohamad Bakhtiyar Khilji near the hill adjacent to Madurana village in Chanpur block of Kaimur district. This Tomb is located 4 kilometers from Chanpur and 16 km from the district headquarter Bhabua. A small river flows adjacent the tomb.The site is tomb made by Bakhtiar khilji in 1568, sixteenth century. It was made by him for his last funeral after his death. The tomb is 88×70 sqr meters in area. The outer radius of dome is 42 metres. There are 30 grave platforms in it. Mazar is open six side, the entrance is to the east and total of twenty-two doors.This tomb was declared of national importance under ASI and Remains Act 1958.
According to Archaeological Buchanan, Bakhtiar Khan was the father of Fateh Khan, who had married the daughter of Sher Shah Suri.
